Week of February 21, 2009 - February 28, 2009
Welcome to the this week's edition of the EdTechTalk (ETT) Weekly Newsletter! There was a great deal of technology learning occurring at conferences, classrooms and ETT shows this past week! The Illinois Computing Educators conference (ICE) featured several ETT show hosts as speakers for spotlight sessions including Jen Wagner and Sharon Peters. The theme of the conference was "Connecting to the World of Tomorrow" with several sessions having back chats an d live blogging for virtual attendees. Many ETT listeners and show hosts attended or presented fabulous sessions featuring resources, social networks and conversations about instructional technology. Plurk was filled with comments about Kevin Honeycutt presenting, singing and entertaining the ed tech troops. Sounds like an exciting time was had by all who attended whether in person or virtually!
A Week in Review

Alice and Cheryl had a great discussion with Kevin Jarrett from Northfield, NJ. Kevin shared many great ideas about his positions as technology integrator at a K-4 elementary school. He also shared his observations about working in Second Life. The chat contains many great resources too. Thanks for joining in the conversation. Wendy Drexler on the Networked Student
Are your students collecting RSS feeds in Google Reader, bookmarking sites as a group in Delicious, blogging, interviewing content area experts they found through Google Scholar, and teaching the section of the course for which they are responsible? Wendy Drexler's students are doing all of this. This is a must listen for those of us who dream of the day when education is a more active, accountable process for students and teachers.-
