Web 2.0, social networks and education

Overview
Web 2.0 and social networks are the heart of an educational and learning revolution. More than ever, students have access to collaborative environments which promote information sharing and co-construction of knowledge (Elgg, Ning, Wikis, blogs, etc.). More flexible, Web 2.0 tools offer learners greater control and foster the emergence of personal learning spaces (Facebook). Wikipedia, Del.icio.us, YouTube and iTunes U contains more and more resources and a variety of approaches to enrich learning experiences.
