EdTechTalk Community Meeting
November 13, 2012

10:09 AM
Hello everyone

10:09 AM
I think that gets to the barrier to entry piece

10:09 AM
nice to see such beautiful faces

10:10 AM
Are you in the same hangout with the rest of us? Might be time for a trip to the optometrist.

10:15 AM

10:16 AM
Hi everyone. Sorry I'm late. Just finished moderating a Global Ed Conf session

10:17 AM
HI Peggy

10:17 AM
Hi Lorna

10:18 AM
be right back

10:18 AM
I still go back to the recordings!

10:19 AM
it's that time thing...

10:19 AM
We have heard the Same about Seedlngs

10:19 AM
I agree about having the archives

10:20 AM
in the moment convos..

10:20 AM
SHH.. dave's back.

10:21 AM
I've been missing the shows! Always looked forward to them!
I agree about Earthbridges

10:22 AM
i blame drupal

10:22 AM
some of it is adjusting to the changes for broadcasting/chat tools to make sure we can make them work

10:22 AM
I blame Dave.

10:22 AM
ds106 radio
Brian Jacks

10:22 AM
jackson

10:22 AM
yes

10:23 AM
We're still in 2005.

10:23 AM
Monika ... This is the session I mentioned ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eE5SwiS5t4E&feature=player_embedded

10:24 AM
: )

10:24 AM
CRISIS!!!!! DEATH OF EdTechTalk

10:26 AM
like the term crossroads
not crisis
a consistent platform would help so it's not different for every show
thank you
I liked the newsletter too

10:26 AM
I haven't read the newsletter in... weeks.

10:29 AM
but when we asked if all of you wanted to continue with it no one responded to the poll

I love that too Monika!
I'm really liking the format for Paul's show. The combination of the TitanPad, live chat and video stream
the conversations are really rich and always hear new ideas and learn about new resources
I also love the informal conversations with "Conversations" that have a topic but can also stray

thanks Monika

10:30 AM
sorry guys.. have to run. thanks for the invite. love all you're doing.

10:31 AM
Conversations isn't using Hangout either
I like being in the same place for live events too

10:31 AM
We still just Skype

10:31 AM
How do you stream, Alice?

10:32 AM
Nicecast... Old fashioned

10:32 AM
why? There are lots of easier ways to do that now, right?

10:33 AM
Probably.. it's just the way we've always done it....

10:37 AM
they are two different suggestions
that was me
I'm muted
we use the chat in TTT and the TitanPad which is really valuable. You can post links and descriptions in the TitanPad and if people arrive late it's still there
interesting point Dave. Don't think we've tried that
Cathy Evanoff joined group chat.

10:37 AM
Hi Cathy! Great to see you!

10:38 AM

10:38 AM
the one problem is that chat in the ETT stream is separate from the chat in Hangout. So someone needs to convey messages

10:39 AM
exactly

10:40 AM
can't stop laughing!
always a kid at heart
say hello Cathy
there's that word again!!!
Paul Allison joined group chat.

10:41 AM
It would be better if you could add effects to other people.

10:42 AM
Don't have my camera/mic..but I can see and hear you

10:43 AM
Cathy are you frozen? Can you hear us?
yes there are often new people on TTT
I agree Paul
I would love to reach out to those people

10:43 AM
can't figure out how to comment on the youtube player

10:44 AM
they have friends though and they might bring them along
if we don't have a consistent platform we have to t
"train" people in each session
silence

10:44 AM
Jeff does it all

10:45 AM
Jeff delegates to Dave

10:45 AM
I want ETT to continue--we can all do our part

10:45 AM
Me too Peggy!

10:45 AM
yes!!!!!!

10:46 AM
Yes, Yes!
It's such a great model for learning!

10:46 AM
John's in an institution? I didn't know

10:46 AM
I AM an institution, Jmad

10:46 AM
I loved the Curriculum Design sessions Robert & Jennifer used to do

10:47 AM
MAybe we all should do this once in awhile

10:47 AM
I agree Alice.

10:47 AM
Have a conversation every once in awhile around a topic
Model

10:47 AM
like the old Thursday night brainstorms?

10:47 AM
Yes

10:47 AM
that is a good idea Alice

10:48 AM
the easier we can make it to publish/post the better
so they can come out in a timely way

10:48 AM
Agree Peggy!

10:49 AM
ahh, the sweet smell of delegation

10:50 AM
Yea, I need to learn to hangout

10:50 AM
I love that idea! non-agenda hangout

10:50 AM
gonna cause talk and suspicion. We're gonna give an exhibition.

10:51 AM
it automatically publishes to youtube
yes you lose the audio podcast
I still subscribe to it
yes!!!!!!

10:51 AM
Have you all been a part of the Hang outs on Air with Googlers? They are sharing different google education goodies.

10:53 AM
my answer is yes!
bubble just burst
automatic downloads--no guarantee they're being listened to

10:53 AM
My bubble burst too.... And here I thought the world was listening!

10:54 AM
but some of the world is always listening!

10:54 AM

10:55 AM
in the archives somewhere

10:55 AM
I still need to graduate WCA!

10:55 AM
me too Sheila

10:55 AM
6 questions are in the columbus document. http://www.edtechtalk.com/node/1492

10:59 AM
2007
are those questions still relevant?

that makes sense!!
google doc
we have to be able to define/describe our community for people to know if their proposal fits in
let's make it a google doc and collaborate on it
raise your hand if you're on the governing board

10:59 AM
Governance is done mainly by blob.

11:00 AM
see--people are trying to figure out who we are/what we do

11:02 AM
bye
yes! we are resuscitated
this is a pretty good time
hahahaha
use the Skype chat to invite and delegate
I totally agree about Paul!!!!!

11:02 AM
Yay, Paul!!!

11:02 AM
and every week the show is excellent!!!

11:02 AM
Woo Hoo Paul!!!!

11:03 AM
that was a lot Ns and Cs

11:03 AM
student voices are so important
Youth Voices...

11:03 AM
Hooray student voice!

11:03 AM
