Welcome to this week's EdTechTalk (ETT) newsletter! One of our goals in providing this newsletter each week is to make it convenient for our readers to quickly review the excellent ETT webcasts that have been posted in the previous week (in case you missed the live session). We just provide the links and highlights in the newsletter, but if you go to the actual link you not only will be able to listen to the recording, but you can read the chat log and additional information provided by the show hosts. K12 Online Echo: Chris Walsh
After viewing Chris Walsh's presentation, Moogpal in Action from the 2009 K12 Online Conference, Chris elaborated on the work he is doing with free, open source tools, and how Moogpal has evolved (Moodle+Google+Drupal). During the session we watched his entire presentation and had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with Chris. It looks like a very exciting possibility for schools.

Conversations #64
Happy Valentine's Day! Today, we discussed skyping in the classroom and posting student work on blogs. We discussed ways we have used skype to connect with other classrooms; reading to others, sharing via video, and more. When posting student's work to their own blog, do they post their best or show a work in progress? (This conversation stemmed from the Feb. 11, 2010 SEEDlings show.) Does all work get published? What about the varying abilities within the class? We missed Lisa this week as she was on vacation, but she will be back next week.

This week our conversation was about the EduCon experience. The Conversations crew were joined by two first time Educon attendees: Meredith Stewart from North Carolina and John Fladd from New Hampshire.

EdTechTalk is a community of people interested in the use of technology to improve teaching and learning at all levels of education throughout the world. As a Worldbridges community, it embraces the values of collaboration and inclusiveness. The primary activity of the community is the production of a number of live, interactive webcasts. These programs cover a wide range of topics relating to educational technology. Shows are typically streamed live, and listeners can interact with one another and the show hosts through a text chat. Recordings of the shows are released as podcasts. Participation in the community is encouraged for anyone who has an interest in educational technology. Participation may take many forms, from simply listening to shows produced by the community to more actively working to produce and distribute content for the network.
