EdTechTalk: 21st Century Learning #50
Webcaster Graduation, Preview of the Goals Show, and Conference Mania
September 21, 2007

We're back after a busy beginning of September. Today we did our Webcaster Graduation.

We also previewed next week's goal show where we're going to collect the goals of our community and have a discussion of what they are. So please post your goals for the year in the EdTechTalk Discussion Forums Here.

Lastly, we discussed the upcoming conferences this fall where we are doing presentations:

For our K-12 Online Conference presentation, we'd like to ask you all to post audio comments about how the EdTechTalk community has helped your learning. Please capture your audio comments and e-mail them to alex.ragone [at] gmail.com. Tell us your name, where you are from, your job, and how EdTechTalk has influenced your education practice.

Don' forget to post your goals for next week's show here.

Check us out next week on Wednesday at noon EST (4pm GMT) at www.edtechtalk.com.

[alex.ragone] The Axioms / Guiding Principles: 1) Our schools must be inquiry-driven, moving toward deep understanding and empowering for all members. 2) Our schools must be about co-creating -- together with our students -- the 21st Century Citizen 3) Technology must serve pedagogy, not the other way around. 4) Technology must enable students to research, create, communicate and collaborate 5) Learning can -- and must -- be networked. Given these guiding principles... I suggest the following five session streams: School 2.0 -- How do our schools need to change to prepare kids for the world to come? Classroom 2.0 -- How do our classrooms need to change? Student 2.0 -- How will the student experience change in our schools? Teacher 2.0 -- How will the lives of teachers change? Change 2.0 -- How do we best act as agents of change? I think I want them that wide-open so that we can see how people engage in those ideas. If we're ready, I'd like to put out a call for proposals... thoughts?

[JohnS] You guys could get quite a bit of content from all of Jeff's nomination letters. I know you want audio, but there are lots of great points about WB and ETT there that you could re-appropriate.
